Bereits zum 25. Mal kürte die AUTOBEST-Jury aus 32 europäischen Ländern die beste Wahl beim Kauf eines neuen Autos. Daneben vergibt sie weitere Awards in den wichtigen Bereichen der Mobilität. Auch diese „Oscars der Autobranche“ sind in der Branche heißbegehrt. 2026 kamen erstmals zu den Stimmen der Jury die der Autofahrer aus den beteiligten Ländern mit dazu. Das waren einige Millionen.
Kriterien für die Wahl zum „Best Buy Car of Europe“ sind neben dem Preis (bis 35.000 + MwSt.) auch Nutzwert,
Platzangebot, Optik, Ausstattung, Verfügbarkeit, Service-Netzwerk oder
Fahrspaß.
Eben alle wichtigen Bereiche, die eine Mehrzahl der Käufer
positiv beeinflussen.
Der Sieger dieser Wahl ist somit die beste Empfehlung für europaweit rund 650
Millionen Autonutzer.
Millionenfach wurde auch das bei YouTube live zu sehende Finale mit Showprogramm angeschaut.
Über fast zwei Stunden mit
interessanten Gästen aus der Automobilindustrie, Kurzfilmen zu den
nominierten sechs Kandidaten und natürlich Stimmabgabe der Jury.
Am Ende bekam dann der Renault R4 E-Tech die meisten Punkte.
Die Folgeplätze belegten mit mehr oder weniger großem Abstand der Citroën C3 Aircross, Fiat Grande Panda, MG S5 EV, Ford Puma Gen-E und BYD Dolphin Surf.
Beim Internet-Voting gab es drei weitere Auszeichnungen zu gewinnen. Den Preis für das beste Design bekam der Fiat Grande Panda, das beste erschwingliche Autotechnologiepaket wurde im MG S5 EV gesehen, der Citroën C3 Aircross trägt nun den Titel des nutzerfreundlichsten Autos.

Diesmal kamen zur Hauptwahl insgesamt neun weitere Auszeichnungen dazu.

Diesen Preis erhielt Stella Li, die BYD mit ihrem Engagement auch weltweit zu einem führenden Automobilhersteller gemacht hat.
Sie ist in ihrer Welt eine der besten Manager, führt ihr Team von ganz vorne und kennt keine unüberwindlichen Hürden.
2. COMPANYBEST 2026
Diesen Preis holte sich Toyota für seinen außergewöhnlich erfolgreichen Weg auf Platz eins der Automobilhersteller. Mit Fahrzeugen, die Käufer wollen, von Hybrid-Benzinern bis vollelektrischen Modellen, von Sportautos bis zu Nutzfahrzeugen.
3. SPORTBEST 2026
Dieser Preis ging an Jeff Dodds, Chef der Formula E. Seit Mai 2023 führte er diese rein elektrische Rennsportserie auf ein ganz neues Level mit vielbeachteten Rennen weltweit.
4. DESIGNBEST 2026
Adrian
van Hooydonk leitet seit Februar 2009 das Design der BMW Group Design, also für alle Marken des Konzerns.
Er gilt als Visionär, hat gerade mit der Neuen Klasse ein weiteres Meisterstück abgeliefert.
5. TECHNOBEST 2026
Mit seiner revolutionären Super e-Platform ermöglicht BYD blitzschnelles Laden mit 1.000 kW.
Diese Innovation füllt die Batterie für weitere 400 Kilometer in nur fünf Minuten.

Im Pirelli Cyber Tyre stecken Sensoren, die in Echtzeit Daten an die bordeigenen Fahrassistenzsysteme schicken, um Sicherheit, Haftung und Fahrleistung zu optimieren.

Einen alten Star nach längerer Zeit wieder auf den Markt zu bringen, das passiert nicht so oft.
In diesem Jahr machte es Honda mit dem Prelude.
Dafür gab es diesen Preis.
8. SMARTBEST 2026
Die im Polestar 4 erstmals eingesetzte Google Maps Live Lane Guidance im Fahrer-Display ist eine KI-gestützte, echtzeitbasierte Spurführung. Frontkameras und Fahrzeugsensoren erkennen die Fahrbahnmarkierungen, halten den Fahrer präzise auf der richtigen Spur.
Visuell und akustisch wird zudem angezeigt, wann ein Spurwechsel notwendig ist, um Ausfahrten oder Abbiegungen nicht zu verpassen.

Adrian
van Hooydonk started at BMW Design in 1992 and became Group Design
Director in 2009.
Famously for BMW, the original 1962 Neue Klasse was
transformative. Now, Van Hooydonk’s modern Neue Klasse is set to be
equally pivotal.
An entire range will be developed from van Hooydonk’s
vision, ensuring he will remain one of the world’s most influential
automotive designers for many years to come.

The new BYD Super e-Platform Flash charging offers peak DC charging speeds of 1000 kW able to fill
400 km of range in just five minutes – or 2 km of range every second!
To
achieve these charging speeds, BYD has developed a number of advanced
technologies in its latest EV architecture for future models.
Including
batteries capable of handling a 10C charging rate along with high-power
motors, high-voltage silicon carbide power chips and fast chargers that

1. Best users car of Europe
The Citroën C3 Aircross was voted number one by combining the Jurors’ and public vote.
Followed by Fiat Grande Panda and the Renault 4.
2. Best car design of Europe
This price went to the Fiat Grande Panda, followed by Renault 4 E-Tech and Citroën C3 Aircross.
The award was accepted live by François Leboine, Fiat Head of Design, whose intervention underlined the importance of European design heritage reinterpreted for contemporary mobility.
3. Best affordable car technology package of Europe
The new MG S5 EV was the winner in this category, followed closely by Renault 4 and Citroën C3 Aircross.
The Grand Finale of the AUTOBEST CONQUEST 2026 on March 28th became the largest live independent motoring entertainment event ever
created in Europe, broadcasted live on YouTube.
Best Buy Car of Europe 2026
The final reveal came under maximum tension at the end of the show.

With a total number of points – coming from both the jurors and the public – the Renault 4 E-Tech (39.676) was declared the winner.
The Citroën C3 Aircross (38.259) came second, followed by the Fiat Grande Panda (35.405).
