Tesla revealed the new Roadster driving upside down, kickflipping over a Semi and hitting 0–60 mph in 0.81 seconds. But how does it actually work? This animation breaks down the real physics: suction fans, SpaceX cold-gas thrusters, and why it can't fly for long.

Visionary Elon Musk is positioning the next-generation Tesla Roadster with flying technology on top of the car manufacturer worldwide. At a SpaceX facility in Texas, he demonstrated a flying prototype.

Elon Musk told the crowds they were about to see some "crazy stuff." He also said, "We need an audience to prove that it's not AI.“

The so called “Rostr“ then drove up a vertical ramp, stopped multiple times horizontally and vertically without following gravity, flipped, and came to a controlled landing. Musk said there was no driver for safety reasons.

The 2-seater uses technology from Musk's rocket company SpaceX. The thrusters allow to accelerate from zero to 96 kilometers per hour in less than a second.

„Turns out the future does have flying cars.“

At the event Elon Musk said, “Flying cars are real. It’s got altitude controls, thrusters and main thrusters in the rear. So it can basically fly like a rocket, it can do rolls, crazy gymnastics.”

Musk said the driving car will enter production in 2028.
