Gordon Murray war einer der kreativsten und sicher auch genialsten Köpfe in der Königsklsse des Motorsports. Schon mit 27 Jahren leitete er sein erstes Formel-1-Team.
Damit das auch in den kommenden Jahren perfekt klappt wurde eine strategische Partnerschafr mit der Halo Cars Group abgeschlossen, die sich mit einem Betrag von 120 millionen Dollar beteiligt.

Die ersten zwei WM-Titel
Mit Brabham und Nelson Piquet holte Murray in den Jahren 1981 und 1983 den Weltmeistertitel,Bei dem britischen Rennstall baute er 1978 auch eines der faszinierendsten GP-Autos, den Staubsauger-Brabham BT46B. Der wurde allerdings schon nach einem einzigen Einsatz wegen seiner vielen technischen Raffinessen verboten.
Die nächsten drei WM-Titel
Später wechselte Murray zu McLaren, konnte dort drei WM-Titel in Folge feiern (1988 bis 1990).Danach entwarf er den McLaren F1 als Straßen- und Rennversion, der gewann sensationell 1995 die 24 Stunden von Le Mans.
2005 gründete der kreative Geist eine eigene Firma (Gordon Murray Design). Der zuerst konstruierte Supersportwagen T.50 bringt das geniale Staugsaugerprinzip des damaligen Brabham auf die Straße.

Der nächste Schritt ist auch schon erfolgt.
Künftig silken noch intensiver Kundenwünsche und Einzelmodelle erfüllt werden.
Dazu wurde das Unternehmen Gordon Murray Special Vehicles (GMSV) gegründet. Mit eigenem Ingenieurteam und eigener Struktur.

Gordon Murray Automotive has announced a $120 million strategic investment from Halo Cars Group, securing the long-term legacy of the company and reinforcing its commitment to engineering artistry.Professor Gordon Murray CBE will continue in his role as Chairman and Chief Designer.
Existing CFO Darren Jukes will take on the interim CEO role as part of the investment.
Halo Cars Group Managing Partners Tarik Ouass and JR Rahn will join the Board of Directors.
The funding will be used to support new research and development programmes and accelerate delivery of the sold out S1 LM, Le Mans GTR, T.50s Niki Lauda, and the T.33 range of supercars.
Halo Cars Group’s investment follows the world record breaking sale of the Gordon Murray S1 LM at RM Sotheby’s Las Vegas auction end of 2025, where the car achieved a $20.63 million price.
This marked the highest non charity auction price ever achieved for a new car.
The S1 LM is the inaugural creation of Gordon Murray Special Vehicles, a division dedicated to crafting ultra rare, bespoke interpretations of Gordon Murray’s most collectable designs.
